| Project Gotham Racing 4Developer: Bizarre Creations Publisher: Microsoft Games Studios Website: A site that is required for you to get the most out of PGRSequels. A symptom of our fast-paced modern society. Everything that has to be commercially successful, has to be following some sort of proven formula, so that Joe Public will pick it up abd pay for it, since the unknown is not something that Joe Public wants to experiment with. And it is that sort of thinking that explains the well-known notion of sequelitis. AKA, doing a "FIFA". As in anything, some sequels are good and some are awful. But where does PGR4 fit in? When I think of bad sequels, I think of the Spiderman franchise, Rambo films, Police Academy and Lord of the Rings. One ring to rule them all? Indeed! But thankfully in videogames, the opposite is true. Mostly. Sequels are better than the originals. Think GTA. Splinter Cell. Virtua Fighter. And to that list we can hopefully add PGR4. As a series, there hasn't been a single dud. Everything about the game has been class. The kudos system. Cone races. The frighteningly obsessive attention to detail. If you look at the picture below, the subliminal message is very clear. Slippery when wet. As always, you will have cities to race around that have been created to be a complete copy of the original. Again, you will race in the four corners of the world. From Japan to England. Canada to Russia and a few countries in between. But what else can you expect? Well, for starters, the fruits of Bizarre Creations long association with Microsoft. Perfect Xbox Live integration. A little something called 'clan support'. Recording and sharing of videos. Simply put, insane fun. Our very own Manchester United pimp is waiting impatiently for this game, and who can blame him. PGR has always offered something quite different to all the other racing sequels. It is going to be less chaotic than any of the Need for Speeds. Far, far less cerebral than Forza 2. More driveable than Burnout. And just simply fun. Something that a few racing games seem to forget. How do you make a game, which is essentially an exercise in infinite repetition, actually engaging? PGR knew the answer 3 games ago. Purchase and enjoy, kids.

| How easy are these achievements, I've not had it 24 hours yet and have 610 points on it!!
Very fun to play though, so will continue with it online. I'll look in to the game nights section for some casual play on it.

| Again, these guys know their audience. I am turning into the forum equivalent of the dodgy relative that pops up and expects you to sit through their holiday snaps. But look at this, look what I rustled up whilst playing a little PGR4. I'm the car in focus, naturally. Doing a daredevil overtaking manoeuvre. That picture was self-indulgent, but I am just chuffed, because at the moment, I am ranked #313 in the world on the Drifto 101>Event 2 Time vs Kudos>Car track. Check the PGRnations site, which I have helpfully linked right at the beginning of this thread. You can't miss it. Bright, bold and pink and tells you in no uncertain terms that you need this site to get the most out of this game. www.pgrnations.com Visit it. |

Ready
Drive the Delorean up to 88mph in a thunderstorm (best done on a bridge track in New York)
Drive the Aston Martin DBS on Boulevard Straights (cant remember which one) then find and park in front of the Casino Royale
Edit your music so that everything is switched off apart from The Prayer by Bloc Party, then do the first arcade race and make sure you finish in second place
I've not done those yet but Benjamin has, we only have 1 copy of PGR4 so obviously only 1 of us can play it at a time.

Nordschleife in the snow is stunning, I like to just hoon around just for fun even though the kudos I gain doesn't add to the pot!

| I got an email the other day from my contact in Bizarre with some interesting Stats, I just thought I would share them:
The main bulk of the PGR Nations web site ( www.pgrnations.com ) is now online – including all of the fun country statistics and worldwide PGR4 leaderboard. Check out the site to see who is the best nation in the world, and (more importantly) who’s the worst.
If you click a nation on the front page you’re taken to a detailed statistical overview of totals and averages across the entire nation. Here are some interesting tidbits:
* United States is currently on top of the Worldwide Leaderboard. This is based on the country’s average Online Career win/races ratio.
* The USA’s best players spend the longest time on track – 01:15:62 on average per player.
* The United Kingdom is behind Canada and Austria in the worldwide leaderboard standings, but ahead in total Kudos accumulated.
* New Zealand is bottom of the overall standings, with an average of 35 wins per player across all game modes. Step it up NZ! J
* Canada holds the fastest speed record overall with an incredible 394mph (set by MR BACONATER), whilst Japan holds the 2nd highest speed with 289mph (set by DK Jackson69).
* The United States is also the “cleanest” nation too, with an average of 95 Clean Races per player. On contrast, Finland and Denmark are both joint “dirtiest”, with only 8 Clean Races per player. Of course, you should really compare this with the number of races the nation has completed in total… remember that the USA has vastly more players than most other nations. (and they have had the game longer than anywhere else -FMG)
We’re currently working on improving the accuracy of some of this data (our team has discovered various ways to analyse the stats in more precise ways), so the chances are you’ll see more movement in these tables over the next few weeks.
Pretty cool huh?
Enjoy! | |

The mouse earns kudos for every 2 seconds it avoids being hit by enemy cats. On being hit by a cat the mouse is ‘wasted’ and can’t earn kudos for set period of time. Cat players get a kudos reward for hitting an enemy mouse and also for defending their own mouse. The team with the most kudos after a time period set by the host wins the event. Tourist Mode This is a simple mode our forum users have requested. Players drive round an open city for a period of time determined by the host. The player with the most kudos is determined the ‘winner’, but this is really a sandbox mode where players can drive around looking at the environment and making their own games up. New Cheat (can be accessed by the options menu)
