Rapala Tournament Fishing Empty

This is the latest in my rental games which I have been giving a play, (some imports such as this) just thought I'd let you know what I make of it. Firstly let me say with rental games from tesco you only get the disc so I wasn't able to read how the controls or tournaments work etc.

Game play- this is as you may guess rather a slow pace game, there are four main game options. Tournament, free fishing, arcade and timed fishing. Which ever way you go the main basis stays there, cast avoiding the bank, reel in until the lure gets attention and then reel in hoping it doesn't slip the hook.

Graphics - at times it looks realy good, such as the rain streaming down the screen as it does on pgr4, but when you end up close to the weeds or bottom of the lake it looks like they have just cut and paste the same image numerous times, or when the boat goes through the lillys and they don't even move.

Does it compare to the real thing? not really, yes patience is required and it can get a bit boring. But you can't beat the surroundings at a lake or the pull of a big fish on the line. I may play it for a bit longer but am glad I didn't spend £34-40 on it!

I have to be honest, fishing games have never been my thing. I was first introduced into fishing via gaming in the Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time game. And that was just painful. And in the latest Zelda game on the Wii, there is a fishing part as well. I needed an hour to catch a bleeding fish.

Haven't tried any of the fishing games just yet on the Xbox. I just don't see the appeal. I really, really don't. But thanks for pointing out that this game is not for everybody. I'll take it as a warning not to pick it up for myself.
